Our Bakery Story

Discover the Heart of Yale Bakery and Its Origins
Yale Bakery has served as a cherished cornerstone of the community for more than a century. In 2017, the bakery entered a new chapter when it was purchased by Pat and Connie Hayes—both lifelong residents of the Yale area and proud alumni of the local school system. Their journey is one defined by commitment, community, and an enduring connection to their hometown.
Pat and Connie first met in high school and have now shared over 37 years of marriage. Both hold fond childhood memories of visiting the bakery, making its eventual purchase especially meaningful. When the opportunity arose, the decision was not an easy one; it represented a significant challenge and a leap into unfamiliar territory, with much to learn and elevate.
Connie courageously retired from AT&T to take on the venture first, with Pat joining her one year later. Together, they have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to crafting the finest sweets in town. Their devotion—to one another, to their craft, and to the community—is evident in every product that leaves their ovens. For the Hayes family, Yale Bakery is far more than a business; it is a labor of love and a testament to their unwavering commitment to the place they call home.
The friendly atmosphere and fresh pastries make Yale Bakery my favorite spot! I visit every week for their delicious cookies and coffee.
